IE Digital has once again been named as one of Australia and New Zealand’s Most Innovative Companies for 2018
The competition, run by The Australian Financial Review and Inventium, considered factors such as problem solving, uniqueness, and customer impact on innovative ideas implemented within companies over the last year.
IE worked with Australia Post to develop ‘Shipster’, a subscription based app which facilitates free shipping within Australia.
David Hodges, head of research and development at IE, found the project’s success was due to understanding the needs of the customer. “By providing the customer with a product that reduces or removes the cost from individual purchasing decisions we can further reduce the psychological barriers to shopping online.”
Given the success of this project, and the needs that exist within larger corporates to create new revenue streams and innovate like startups, IE has an exciting new hire to announce.
Georgia Beattie, founder of Lupé Wines and former CEO at Startup Victoria, recently joined the IE Digital as head of corporate venturing, based in the Richmond office..
“In today's digital economy, mergers and acquisitions aren’t enough for a business to stay competitive,” describes Beattie. “Corporate Venturing is the internal innovation capacity of a business to be the disruptor rather than be disrupted - it’s a super exciting space in Australia right now while our economy navigates from resources into technology”.
